Why Otto Exists

The world is changing. Datacenter buildouts, greedy utilities, volatile politics, and disruption halfway around the world all affect what you pay for power and whether it's there when you need it. Solar + battery storage is a way to buy back control — to own your power production and stop renting it from forces you can't influence.

Otto exists because people making that investment deserve a company that treats it with the seriousness it warrants.

The solar industry has a reputation problem. Too many companies have prioritized sales volume over installation quality, flashy promises over honest timelines, and high-pressure closes over genuine service. The result: an industry that people approach with justified skepticism. Otto is the antidote — a local company with a named owner, where reputation is the business model.

We're a Northern Indiana company serving a community we live in. Every system we design, every timeline we commit to, and every number we present is something we stand behind personally. That's not a marketing position — it's how we deliver.

We're not trying to be the biggest solar company. We're trying to be the one people recommend to their neighbors without hesitation.

What We Stand For

Our Principles

Competent

Every system is engineered for the specific property it serves. We understand the electrical, structural, and financial dimensions of every project. We don't do cookie-cutter installs, and we don't upsell equipment you don't need. Competence means we've thought through the details before we show up at your door.

Timely

We show up when we say we will. We finish when we say we will. If something changes — weather, supply chain, permitting — you hear about it before it becomes a problem. The bar in this industry is underground. We intend to clear it by a wide margin, every single time.

Our guarantee: If we're more than a month late on your installation (for reasons within our control), we cover your utility bill until we're done. That's what "Timely" means.

Fair

Honest pricing. Honest timelines. Honest about what solar can and can't do for your property. If the numbers don't work, we'll tell you directly. We'd rather lose a sale than earn a reputation we don't deserve. That's not altruism — it's how you build a business that lasts.

Justin founded Otto Power Company with a straightforward conviction: that Northern Indiana deserves a solar installer that treats every project like its reputation depends on it — because it does. His background spans finance and construction, and he brings both perspectives to every system Otto designs and installs.

Where We Work

Northwest Indiana

We're a local company with local knowledge. We understand Northern Indiana's utility landscape, permitting requirements, weather patterns, and building practices. That local expertise informs every system we design — from panel selection to production modeling to long-term maintenance planning.

Full-Time · Northern Indiana

Solar Installation Technician

Hands-on installation of residential and commercial solar systems. Experience in roofing, electrical, or construction preferred but not required — we'll train the right person. What we can't teach is showing up on time and caring about the quality of your work.
